KCB Christmas Boat Parade

The KCB Fishing and Boating Club is again sponsoring this year’s Key Colony Beach Christmas Boat Parade to be held on Sunday night, December 11th beginning at dusk. One of our newer members, Ted Fischer, has volunteered to chair this event. Ted, Chet Dunn, Tom Alferes, and Chet Polk make up this year’s committee so far. Additional club members are welcome to join. We are currently soliciting sponsors to provide trophies and charitable donations which will be directed to the winning captains’ charity of choice.

There will be three winners: Best Boat Overall, Best Boat under 30 ft, Best Boat over 30 ft. All participating boat captains and crew are invited to the Award’s ceremony immediately following the parade at Key Colony Beach Inn. For anyone planning on participating in the Boot Key Christmas parade on Saturday December 10th, our parade will be the next night – so you can get double exposure making it even more worth your effort! Let’s all get involved as only our club can do and let’s make this the best parade ever and have some great fun. Again, please contact Ted @ 302-841-9812 if you would like to help and we welcome any suggestions on how to make this project a success.

REGISTRATION: All those interested in registering a boat and crew in the parade are encouraged to click on the following link, call or text Ted @ 302-841-9812 or email him @ ted.fischer1@verizon.net. There is no registration fee (HO! HO! HO!)

Silent Auction

This year the Silent Auction will be held at the Clambake. This is a great opportunity to pick up some quality items for ridiculously low prices. This is a big fund raiser for the club, so if you have any items that are taking up space (new and slightly new), please donate them to the cause. John Fruhmorgen will be happy to pick up any items at your home. Please call him at (305) 268-9668.

Fish for Clambake

We are looking for volunteers to donate some fish for our annual Clambake. We would like to receive 10 lbs of filets from those that will sign up, but we will be happy to take less if you can help out. Snappers, Dolphin, Grouper, and Wahoo filets, will be greatly appreciated.

Drop off point is John Tyson’s home at 14 Avenue F, in Coco Plum. There is a cooler in the back yard that you may deposit the filets. Please put your name on the bags. John will fine clean the filets and freeze them.

Everyone donating 10 pounds, will be eligible to win a nice prize at the Clambake.

John can be contacted at (305) 481-0895, john@bluerunnerfishing.com
